I find myself in awe of Emily and Mo and their enthusiasm for the lives that they lead and the places that they have lived and visited. You see, they are both world travelers; Emily is originally from Maryville, TN and Mo is originally from India. They met at a polo match in Africa. That is where they fell in love, and that is where they were wed in a simple ceremony.

Nodira and Alex wanted their wedding to create a unique community-building experience out in nature with all of their friends and family for a weekend. Most of the guests camped out in tents on the property, Moon Mountain Lodge, which is a beautiful off-the-grid place in Northwest Washington State.
Read MoreBrandy & Conley (lovingly referred to as Bronley) are one of the most amazing couples I've ever met. Their wedding day was gorgeous and memorable for so many reasons. These two are very dear friends of mine, so photographing their celebration was already an honor. Everything about their celebration magnified just how much these two love each other and their friends and family, as well as what an incredible and caring support system they have. The ceremony was held at a local park that overlooked the city. Brandy & Conley said this was really important for them, because they could come back and visit the spot where they said their vows anytime they wanted. The reception was hosted by a fabulous drag queen and one of their friends did a pole dance performance in the middle of the dance floor that left everyone with their jaws on the floor. Many people at the wedding didn't know that Conley had started transitioning (including his Father), and it was a beautiful moment to see Conley called by his chosen name for the first time in such a public yet intimate setting. Everything was uniquely Bronley. No bullshit, just awesomeness, tons of laughter, and lots and lots of love.

I find their love story to be all sorts of adorable… they were college roommates, and they loved living together, but it wasn’t until the very last few weeks of their first year living together that they realized they were honest-to-goodness in love with each other. They are such a fun couple (and it’s no surprise to me that they fell in love after living together for a year!), and their wedding was seriously fun!
Read MoreIn thinking about what we wanted out of our wedding (and over-thinking it for weeks on end) we agreed there were three things we simply couldn’t live without in this celebration: great food, a killer location, and stunning photographs. What we got out of our wedding was so much more than these three things. In thinking about what was important to us, we were able to drop what wasn’t and created a celebration that showed the 70 family and close friends in attendance exactly who we are as a couple, and how much our hearts burst with love for one another. The very friend who facilitated our meeting at a bar officiated our wedding, and told the story of our love. She incorporated tidbits that she had secretly solicited from each of us, and it was incredibly powerful to hear the things that we’d written about each other for the first time along with our friends and family. Amanda’s dad passed away about two years ago, and she was scared that it would feel like there was a hole where something huge was missing during the celebrations. Instead, the love and joy that radiated from every single person who was there filled our hearts even more. Throughout our planning, we tried to balance all of the things we wanted this wedding to be without losing each other in the process. In the end, the result was so beautifully us.

Read MoreI loved photographing this wedding. Everything about it was tranquil and personal. Beth & Jeff hand-picked almost every detail for their big day; from the playful hand-made windmills blowing in the subtle breeze; to the handwritten tags placed at every table; to the venue surrounded by rolling fields of cows and sheep. The aesthetics flowed together seamlessly creating the beginning to their marriage. It was all about both of them; two people, in love.
Read MoreStephanie and Felipe's wedding was an extension of their relationship and their community. They opted to mix things up a bit and do the reception before the ceremony which was a first for me (and hopefully not the last). People got a chance to mingle and catch up, sharing drinks, a great meal, and a lot of laughs. The setting, Stephanie's family backyard, was absolutely perfect and just captured the intimacy, and spirit of this weekend. Stephanie wore a skirt that she loved and turned it into a dress wearing a belt she and her mother made specially for the day. Her mom even hand embroidered napkins for the guests and they were gorgeous. When the ceremony started it seemed like the most natural thing to watch and be part of this day with these two. Words of encouragement were shared by the family and Stephanie sang a song to Felipe, I don't think there was a dry eye there, I know mine were a little damp at one point during the day. The night ended with dancing and time together, no huge send off, just a, "See you tomorrow at brunch." The weekend ended with a brunch at a local vineyard and as with the theme for the weekend you knew this couple wanted this to be as much about everyone else as it was about this new part of their journey together.
Read MoreAlexa and Stephen are totally awesome. Alexa is a petite and meditative (with a Buddha-like personality) woman from Puerto Rico. She has an awesome Brooklyn accent, and wildly amazing hair. Stephen is originally from Washington state, and is funny and quirky, and still knows how to rock a paperboy hat and suspenders. Their energy from day one of knowing them was rooted in just being, and loving and it shows. Best of all, they were so real, top to bottom. They met while working together at Ruby Tuesdays in Virginia Beach, and fell in love. What is more real than that? Their wedding was crazy fun, and felt like a true celebration of not only their love, but their families as well. They blasted traditional Puerto Rican music far into the night, danced their butts off, and belted in Spanish with fist pumps in the air.
