Real Couples // Intercultural Bali Bash: Shirelle + Brian
/Shirelle and Brian met at the University of Texas in Austin and they were friends for a few years before Brian asked Shirelle out for their first date. “I had had a crush on him since my freshman year when he used to wear goofy hipster glasses. My friends thought it was funny that I went on a date with Brian — he was pretty eccentric in college, but I knew that we had a connection.”
Brian proposed eight years later back in Austin at the Capitol building near campus. It was a spot where they used to walk around the grounds at night and talk. It's also where they first said “I love you” to each other. It was a cold winter night, and they were bundled up blankets on a horse-drawn carriage.
