Maternity Shoot Turned Wedding Proposal and Engagement: Kelly + Tom
/This session is so special to me. This sweet mama bear is my very first friend. I've known her for 30 years. And when Tom asked me if I wanted to photograph their maternity photos slash SURPRISE PROPOSAL, I couldn't have agreed faster. I love them! I love baby bumps! I love sparkly new jewelry! And I looooove being sneaky!
Kelly and Tom met during Lollapalooza weekend at exactly this spot in 2013, so this location was very important to him. On a perfectly crisp November afternoon, we met at Buckingham Fountain under the guise of maternity photos. I began their session just as I would any other. Focusing on that sweet bump, a few on her own, a few of them together. Until we made it around to "the spot". The weather was perfect, she looked incredible, he somehow managed to stay completely cool, and the proposal went flawlessly. I am so honored to have been able to capture their big moment through a tear streaked lens.
