Real Couples // Oklahoma City Love: David + Blanca
/We first met in our high school algebra II class my junior year and his senior year. He started to sit by me everyday. Then one thing led to another, and our small talk over homework turned into flirting. He would randomly ask, “Why are you blushing?” in order to make me blush. I refused to let him win and make me blush. But no matter what I did, without knowing, my cheeks would automatically get a little rosy each time he asked me. For my birthday that year he showed up to class with a present for me. Of course he had to ask me, “Why are you blushing?” in order to embarrass me a little. I never imagined he thought of me as anything more than a friend until that day.
What started in that algebra class led to our relationship and then our engagement. December 6 of 2014 was our big day! It was a perfect wedding, everything I could have asked for that day. We got married in our hometown of Guymon, Oklahoma surrounded by our families and close friends.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. They serve as a keepsake and allow us to look back at the memories that we made together. As for these pictures, I didn’t intend to take them for a certain purpose. I just wanted to have professional pictures of us to have for our new home. During the photo session, Susan asked for us to look into each other’s eyes. David decided he would once again ask me his popular question from 5 years ago, “Why are you blushing?” It was at that moment I recalled all those memories we had made and how that simple question began our entire relationship. It is the little things that remind us of where it all began. These pictures won't be just some random pictures of us. They will be a special memory to me of reflecting on the time when our love for each other once started.
