Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

A: Nuestra mayor inspiración para planear la boda fue el lugar en dónde nos conocimos y en nuestras personalidades. A las dos nos encanta la playa, el mar y la suave arena del caribe, por lo que, queríamos que todos estos elementos tuvieran un lugar importante dentro de nuestro gran día! Somos personas muy alegres y nos encanta la música, así que decidimos que la decoración y la temática serian colore alegres y llenos de vida ( verde, amarillo, fucsia y azul). Decidimos gastar una buena parte de nuestro presupuesto en los músicos! Asi que, buscamos una persona con la que nos identificáramos para que tocara en vivo durante la ceremonia nuestras canciones favoritas y con un toque especial. El mariachi no podía faltar al salir del altar para celebrar y por último una banda de música en vivo durante la fiesta no podía faltar. La ceremonia fue oficiada por una ministro muy amiga de nosotras por lo qué, el discurso fue aún mas emotivo y personalizado.

A: Our biggest inspiration for planning the wedding was the place in which we met each other and in our personalities. We both love the beach, the sea, and the soft sand of the Caribbean, so we wanted all of these elements to have an important place in our big day! We are very happy people and we love music, so we decided that the decoration and the theme would be cheerful colors and full of life (green, yellow, fuchsia, and blue). We decided to spend a good part of our budget on the musicians! So, we looked for a person we identified with to play our favorite songs live during the ceremony with a special touch. The mariachi couldn't be left out as we left the altar to celebrate and finally a live band during the party could not be missed. The ceremony was officiated by a minister very friendly to us and because of that, the speech was very emotional and personalized.

Q: Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

A: La decoración de la ceremonia fue inspirada en colores alegres, asi que decidimos usar unas telas de colores para cubrir la pergola blanca del altar dónde se llevo a cabo la ceremonia religiosa y en el camino de la entrada hacia el altar pusimos "rehiletes" de colores que ademas de dar vida y originalidad al camino recibían la briza del mar con singular alegría! Se repartieron a todos los invitados gafas de sol de colores para que todos pudieran tener ese toque de alegría.También se dieron pétalos de flores para que los lanzaran a nosotros cuando saliéramos del altar. Se entregaron abanicos de colores artesanales hechos con hoja de palma.

A: The decoration for the ceremony was inspired by bright/happy colors, so that we decided to use colored fabrics for covering the white archway of the altar where the religious ceremony took place and on on the way to the entrance to the altar we put colorful pinwheels that, aside from giving life and originality to the aisle, spun in the ocean breeze with singular joy! All of the guests were given colorful sunglasses so that all could have the touch of that happiness. We also gave them flower petals to throw at us when we left the altar. We also handed out colorful handmade fans made with palm leaves.

Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

A: Nuestros ramos fueron diseñados para tener mucho color y nosotras pedimos que se incluyeran algunas de nuestras flores favoritas que son las " suculentas". Los ramos eran muy parecidos, pero el de Laura tenia más cargado el color rojo y el mio ( Ari) tenia mas tonos morados. Que son nuestros colores favoritos! Los centros de mesa también fueron hechos con suculentas y flores de tonos rojos, morados, amarillos y verde.

A: Our bouquets were designed to have lots of color, and we asked them to include some of our favorite flowers, which are succulents. The bouquets were very similar to each other, but Laura's had heavier reds and mine (Ari's) had more purple tones. Which are our favorite colors! The centerpieces also were made with succulents and flowers in shades of red, purple, yellow, and green.

Q: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

A: Nosotros añadimos música en vivo durante todo el día de la boda, ceremonia, cocktail, cena y fiesta. Se pusieron también, letreros con frases de amor por cada lugar en dónde estarían nuestros invitados. Nuestra parte favorita fue la ceremonia, ya que fue el momento mas emotivo del día y en el que todos nuestros invitados nos llenaron de su buena vibra y amor.

A: We added live music during the whole wedding day: ceremony, cocktails, dinner, and party. We also put signs with phrases of love in each place in which our guests would be. Our favorite part was the ceremony, since it was the most emotional moment of the day and in that which all our guests filled us with their good vibes and love.

Q: Let's talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail.

A: Nuestros vestidos fueron pensados para ser algo sencillo pero con algun toque personal. Sabiamos que haría mucho calor, por lo que, elegimos usar telas muy ligeras y sin mucha decoración. El vestido de Laura lo confecciono una diseñadora de modas en España con los elementos que Laura le propuso y agrego un toque de listón color rojo en la parte de atrás del vestido que es su color favorito.El vestido de Ari se confecciono en México por una diseñadora que aunque tardó en entender el estilo que ella buscaba, el resultado final fue muy bueno y por supuesto también agrego un toque con listón color morado ( su color favorito) al rededor de la cintura.

A: Our dresses were designed to be simple, but with a personal touch. We knew that it would be very hot, and because of that, we elected to use very light fabrics, without much decoration. Laura's dress was made by a designer in Spain with elements that Laura suggested and an added a touch of red ribbon on the back of the dress, which is her favorite color. Ari's dress was made in Mexico by a designer that although she was slow to understand the style that she was looking for, the final result was very beautiful and of course also added a touch of purple ribbon (her favorite color) around the waist.

Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

A: Nos conocimos llevando a cabo un proyecto en común dentro del hotel en dónde trabajamos. Y después coincidimos en varias fiestas de amigos en común. Le propuse matrimonio ( Ari) en un viaje a la isla de Ibiza en España durante un concierto de un artista que a las dos nos gusta mucho y al que las dos teniamos muchas ganas de ver desde hace mucho tiempo. Aproveche el momento en que sonó nuestra canción favorita para llevarla ( con ayuda de un amigo) a un sitio más privado sin que ella lo sospechara y en aquel sitio nos rodearon con luces de bengala y en cuanto tuve oportunidad le di el anillo y le hice la propuesta! Y ella por supuesto dijo que si!! :)

A: We met each other while doing a project together in the hotel where we both work. And after that, we ran into each other at various parties of friends in common. I (Ari) proposed on a trip to the island of Ibiza in Spain during a concert by an artist that we both really love and had wanted to see for a long time.

I seized the moment when our favorite song played to lead her (with the help of a friend) to a more private place without her suspecting and in that place we were surrounded with sparklers and when I had the opportunity I gave her the ring and proposed! And she of course said yes!!! :)

Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

A: El momento en que nos vimos por primera vez en la ceremonia caminando hacia el altar.

A: The moment when we saw each other for the first time at the ceremony walking to the altar.

Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?

A: El principal consejo es que no se estresen por cosas que puedan salir mal o bien en el día de la boda y que disfruten de su famila, amigos y de cada momento de ese día porque pasa volando!

A: The main advice is that you shouldn't stress about things that can go right or wrong on the wedding day and enjoy your family, friends, and each moment of the day because it passes quickly!
