Catalyst Wedding Company highlights weddings by and for game-changers. We seek to amplify and empower voices and viewpoints that are usually missing from the Wedding Industrial Complex. We're a community of badass wedding professionals who love all things funky, fresh, diverse, unique, and personality-driven; we convene twice yearly for (un)convention, a collaborative workshop, styled shoot, and dinner party. We're also the publishers of Catalyst Wedding Mag, a resource for couples looking for inspiration and affirmation that doing things differently in wedding-world is not only ok, it's wonderful!

The moment Carla and Lashanna met, they knew instantly they were meant to be together. As their love grew, they had no doubts in their minds that they were just "right." For this styled session, I wanted to bring out their personalities and showcase their love for each other. We had Carla's love for all things glam, while also having a more relaxed feel with Lashanna.

Carla wore a gorgeous Stella York gown, while Lashanna chose a nice gray suit, paired with pearls. These two are seriously the cutest. They helped each other get ready, did each other's makeup, and were so excited to see the set-up we had for them! For the table, we had a payette runner with a mix of textured dinnerware, and we went in a different direction with the centerpiece by having a spray of ostrich feathers on top of a gold candelabra. At sunset, we went upstairs to the balcony, where we had their special cake set up. This cake was to die for! It brought in the same mixed texture theme from the table set-up by having ruffled and tiled layers, and it was topped with the same florals used in Carla's bouquet.

I'm Casey, A wedding and boudoir photographer who loves capturing the romantic yet joyful sides of couples, both near and far. Located in Charlotte NC, available to travel worldwide.

I would melt every time I heard proposal stories, and adored the special little details that filled the wedding days. In 2011, a friend saw me struggling to figure out the right path in life, and simply dared me to take a chance over one summer between semesters. "Just be a photographer," she said. I had absolutely NO faith in this ever going anywhere, but something happened... All the missing pieces I could feel within my soul were found that summer as clients came into my life with encouragement. After only two months, I realized that old saying was true. I bought my first DSLR, started up my business, and never looked back.
