Real Couples // Sugarloaf Mountain Wedding: Sally + Sophia
/I first met Sally and Sophia over a Skype call and instantly felt the love between them. They are two incredible women, and their wedding day was nothing short of amazing. I had the honor of joining their dearest friends and family at The Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain for their beautiful celebration of love. These two decided to make their grand entrance into their ceremony together, holding hands, and proceeded to speak the most heartfelt vows to one another in front of a gorgeous mountain backdrop. Their wedding decor was filled with beautiful flowers and branches, designed by the amazing team at Amaryllis. They were looking for something organic and whimsical — capturing the details and beauty of the Sugarloaf Mountain area. Sally and Sophia now reside and work together in Washington, D.C.
Sally says, "Ours is a story of stars aligning... which is the moment that only comes when you've finally found the one you were meant to be with. On a gorgeous summer night in 2013, and among mutual friends, we met and spoke for the first time, and a lasting impression was made. Call it love at first sight. Whatever it was, it was enough for us to continue wondering about the other, until we (virtually) ran into each other again a few months later. After months of cyber-stalking, we finally met on an official date and have been inseparable ever since.
Our engagement took place at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel at Waikiki Beach in Oahu, Hawaii. To Sophia's surprise, a ring became a part of a very romantic breakfast-on-the-balcony overlooking the sand and surf."
