Bright Neon Wedding Inspiration at Hotel 50 Bowery in NYC
/Jon Lemon from JC Lemon Photography, Sharon Becker from SB Beauty, and I all collaborated to highlight the gorgeous Hotel 50 Bowery and brought in other local vendors that would compliment the space and speak to its sophisticated aesthetic. Every single vendor, from the flowers to the stylist, was hand selected to bring a fun and vibrant look together in an elevated way.
This shoot was a true collaboration between myself, Sharon, and Jon to create a luxury wedding scene for a sophisticated and fun queer couple living in NYC to celebrate their love, including their real life pet, Scout. We had so much fun dreaming up ways to highlight the stunning views that 50 Bowery Hotel displays while also celebrating its downtown vibe and unique artwork.
As soon as Sharon met this couple, she knew they were the perfect fit for our shoot. They were madly in love with each other and it was obvious as the day went on that they balanced each other in all the right ways. We wanted to find a way to celebrate this union and carefully curated a team of vendors that had the experience to contribute a luxury look that was fun and approachable, fit for anyone getting married at the hotel who isn't afraid of color. A bright yellow tone was chosen with black and white elements to compliment but not distract from the couple itself and their unique attire. Carol Hannah provided the a dreamy dress that floated while Lilia walked and swirled around Lauren's bright pink suit.
We focused on thoughtful details that would shine a light on this amazing venue that Sharon, Jon and I all love and are incredibly proud of the results!
McQueens is a London based Floral company and school that recently launched their New York branch. Their designs are cohesive and full, vibrant and diverse, never missing an opportunity to make a statement. They can create a lush tablescape or perfectly compliment a ceremony backdrop. They exceeded our expectations in every way! We wanted something bold and colorful to both compliment the unique artwork inside the hotel, but also particularly stand out against the structural architecture of the space and outdoor landscape of high rises. I wanted to create a layered look that used artistic textures and colors to create a truly joyful wedding day for this radiant couple.
Leopard and Pear created a dessert table to echo the sophistication of this couple. It had a small cake with the same florals and gold leaf touches as well as mini desserts of varying sizes and flavors, all displayed elegantly on top of acrylic boxes. Their painterly style beautifully echos the artwork on the walls of the space. When it came to the table, I created something with clean lines that focused on their intimate table for two using a simple palette of black and white so that the yellow flowers and centerpiece was the main focal point. Ghost chairs were the perfect finishing touch to bring it all together.
